Celebrated Zimbabwean fashionable Global Citizen, Gilmore Tee launched an online podcast called the Gilmore Tee Vibe #GTeeVibe. This comes just a few weeks after the recognition of the impact both online & live radio is making in communities and cultural hubs all over the world. Gilmore who is known for hosting the red carpet and guest presenting at the Zimbabwe Music Awards, says the podcast allows his voice to be fully heard without anyone censoring the way he delivers his subjects of interests.
The Global Citizen who has a column in a weekly national newspaper and also corresponds for other online platforms, indicated that the weekly podcasts will touch on Fashion, Art and Travel, amongst many other areas of interests. His debut podcast is centered around the state of African Fashion, with fashion designers and expects such as Cape Town Stockist – Colin Don Schouw, Award Winning Designers Yvette Ndaba, Sanah Designs, David Alford and comments from Vimbai Gwaze and Bryan Kauma being featured. The 30 minutes podcast touches on areas of relevance, sales, quality and the future of African fashion.
“Think of an art discussion that is relevant not only to people in one setting but across cultures, communities and varying tastes. A fashion talk that is not stuck only in the lifestyle and designs but also suggests the business and branding aspects. I want to talk travel experiences, the do’s and don’ts of a global citizen, should they exist. The Gilmore Tee Vibe will talk places, styles, people, society, trends and the entire politics involved with being alive in art, fashion and travel. The main point being to talk and be involved” – expressed Gilmore Tee

In 2013, Gilmore got a gig as a Co-Host for Continental Breakfast, a show he hosted every Tuesday on South Africa’s online business radio, Radio Junto for 9 months where listeners would tune in and engage with both Gilmore and Eben Niemann. It is when he left humanitarian work for Senegal, that he stopped Co-Hosting the radio show.
Over the past years, Gilmore Tee has featured on some notable radio stations such as South Africa’s Cliff Central, Zimbabwe’s ZiFM Stereo and Star FM, amongst many other live broadcast platforms. The opinionated personnel promises to talk about issues that are not subject to an event or are bound to fade off in a week or two, another unique feature coming with the podcast.
“The podcast does not evolve around what is trending, but things that are trending are brought into a discussion depending on the topic, and they are point of reference. My idea is to have a podcast that one can listen to even a few months or years down the line, and find it relevant. I have such an incredible team and I am looking forward to producing some interesting podcasts for listeners. My producer, Tswarelo Mothobe is one of the best, and together we will have good content.” – Gilmore Tee
On whether he would consider taking his product to a radio station Gilmore indicated that he would not mind, but the deal has to be concrete and allow him to be as creative as he is.
“I don’t mind pushing this on some station, I am just one individual who clearly knows what he wants and also has no filter on his mouth, so we will have to work that out big time. Again, it has to be a good deal that allows my brand to grow too. With the digital space, its much easier to reach greater amounts of people now than ever before. My website and social media platforms have come in handy in that aspect too. But, any opportunity to grow ones brand is always welcome”, said Gilmore Tee
